It is hard to define that answer as a couple means different things to different people, as well as a relationship, can mean different things to different people.

A couple cosplay can also be two people (who are not defined as a couple/or in a relationship) wanting to cosplay a couple (say from a movie, e.g. Tony Stark and Pepper Potts).

Want to try and find your own couple cosplay idea? Well, keep reading as I’m about to give you some tips.
Cosplay is all about cosplaying what you like and enjoy, so the best way to find your perfect couple cosplay is to look at what you both enjoy!
It is equally important to communicate with each other to ensure you are both cosplaying something you will enjoy, so try and find a common interest and go from there.
After you’ve found a common interest it’s time to start researching, lets’s take an example of you both liking the same movie.
Watch the movie together and figure out if you can take any couple cosplay ideas from that, once you have your ideas go to the internet and start searching for more inspiration.
If you want to buy the cosplays, look on cosplay websites to see if they sell the cosplays you need.
If you want to make the cosplays start looking up any patterns you may require, reference images, etc.
Where can you buy a couple cosplay?
There are many different places to buy couple cosplays from, I have listed a few shops that I have had good experiences with below:
Be sure to read reviews to make sure you are buying from a reputable company as there are many places to buy cosplays from these days.
If you are looking for something a bit more custom, or that none of these shops produce, a good place to start is Etsy and cosplay social media groups.
If you are in a relationship, do you need to couple cosplay?
No, you do not.
Do not feel forced to couple cosplay.
Cosplay is your choice where you get to choose what you would like to do. I know I keep saying this but it’s because it is one of the most important parts of cosplay.
Can you be a part of a couple cosplay if you’re not in a relationship?
Yes, as mentioned at the beginning of the article you can be a part of a couple cosplay even if you are not in a relationship or define yourselves as a couple.
Maybe you both just really want to cosplay as a couple that you love seeing on screen and you want to bring that couple to life!
The first thing to remember is you both understand what is expected of you on the day you will be cosplaying as this couple, people may ask you to take pictures being a couple and doing couple-ey things (I think you know what I mean).
So I cannot stress this enough to ensure that you are both aware that this may occur and respect each other boundaries and plan ahead in these cases.
Some questions you can both discuss could be: What would the other person like to do? Are they ok with doing this or that? If they aren’t how would they like to handle the situation?
And once again, cosplay is not consent, doesn’t matter whether you are cosplaying as a couple or not.
